In the past, Start Fresh has initiated special projects and worked with the community in its philanthropic efforts for children, new development, education, and health. As a result, Start Fresh and its founder and directors were honored with certain prestigious awards throughout the 1980s and 90s that attest to the regard that community organizations hold for the company and their appreciation for the work we do. Among these awards stand the Children of Otsar Community Service Award, the Shaare Chesed of New Square Community Commitment Award, the Jewish Commission for Special Education Appreciation Award, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Ezras Nisuen Keter Shem Tov Award. Start Fresh and its staff were, and continue to be, honored by the bestowal of these awards and others like them, as its partnership with the community is one of the most important components of its existence.

Beyond community-specific boundaries, Start Fresh has enjoyed the extensive media coverage deserving of a pioneer kosher diet. Not long after its inception, the company debuted on the glossy pages of VOGUE. Soon after, New Ways to Health and Fitness Magazine, In Business Magazine, The Jewish Press and The Brooklyn Paper followed suit. Comments from Start Fresh's founder also appeared in The Money Club, a unique book about how women handle finances, and the company's history was detailed in Borough Park Centennial, which documents the 20th century development of community and business in the thriving, urban, predominantly Jewish enclave that is home to the Start Fresh headquarters.

While awards and news coverage are tremendous honors to receive, our real reward is the perpetual health of our members.
